I should like to state firstly that this site is not intended as a defence, though it may be read by some as an apologetic, for those clergy who have received Holy Orders through Apostolic Succession but who are not currently in communion with the Holy Father, or other historically "established" churches. There exists considerable evidence and material about independent Catholicism on the internet and in literature without requiring further input from this site!
This site is however, designed purposefully for clergy who have received Holy Orders from independent bishops, perjoratively regarded as "episcopi vagantes" (literally translated "wandering bishops") by the Roman Catholic and other "established" Churches. The main purpose here is to provide a resource to explain, enhance and educate such clergy in their understanding and practice of the Sacred Ministry.
